Wet Rot

Leading experts

There are many different species of Wet Rot and a wide range can be found locally. Wet Rot requires water, air and fuel (timber) to survive as does Dry Rot. However, Wet Rot differs in two main ways, it cannot grow through masonry or behind plasterwork and it cannot survive if the source of fuel and water are removed. This makes treatment less complicated but the damage can still be significant. Wet Rots are often found in poorly ventilated floor voids and on timbers in contact with damp surfaces such as walls affected by rising or penetrating dampness.

Some species of Wet Rot are very similar in appearance to Dry Rot and this makes correct identification crucial to specifying appropriate treatments. Our vast experience, training and qualifications in the remedial treatment industry make us the leading experts in this field.
